Compost
McFarlane's Bark processes yard debris to the standards and specifications of Metro. Metro had approved our compost-stuff as an "Earth-Wise" product. For information from Metro, call 503-797-1700. The final product, compo-stuff is registered trademark of McFarlane's Bark.
The yard debris, once completing the composting cycle, is then screened to a finished product. Compo-stuff assists in amending and adding nutrients, to your soil.
Fine Compo-Stuff 5/8" dust, almost black in color. Great as a top dressing for your beds, or can be tilled into soil.
Medium Compo-Stuff 1" dust with some fines, some pieces up to 2" and almost black in color. Recommended as a top dressing or can be tilled into soil.
Coarse Compo-Stuff 1"-4" material, almost black in color. This material is great for erosion control.
*All compo-stuff, regardless of size, assist in amending the soil and provides nutrients.

Soil and Soil Mixes
We offer screened soil and two (2) soil mixes
Scottish-Blended Soil - This mix is 50% Fine Compo-Stuff, 40% Screened Soil, 10% Sand. Scottish-Blended Soil is recommended to till into a clay soil, breaking up the clay and providing nutrients and waster drainage. Plants can be planted directly into the Scottish-Blended Soil.
3-Way Irish Mix- This mixture contains 1/3 Regular Fine Bark, 1/3 Fine Compo-Stuff, 1/3 Sand. Great for potting mix.

Rock
McFarlane's has the following rock products available, for u-haul or delivery:
3/4 - Crushed Gravel 3/4" to dust, grey in color. A great rock to use for driveways. This rock compacts well.
Pea Gravel 1/4" minus rounded rock. No sharp edges. Good for walkway paths.
2" Round Rock 1 1/2"-2" Round Rock, smooth for decorative purposes. Grey in color.
Red Rock 1/2"-1" . Some jagged edges on rock. Also known as lava or cinder rock.
